FSU Football: ACC Set To add Cal, Stanford and SMU

In a move that makes zero impact on FSUs decision making process the ACC welcomes three new teams

This move was not totally unexpected but the timing is certainly a bit suspect. Three decent football schools across the country on the Pacific Coast? Not sure how this move will affect the naming of the conference they may have to make a change.

These little moves are OK and surely will help the ACC compete with a league like the Big12. That said if Jim Phillips and the Tobacco road cronies want any shot of keeping FSU and Clemson in the ACC they will have to secure Notre Dame and bring NBC to the table for a renegotiation.

If and only if that is the case and they announce it sometime later this year will I applaud this latest move. There is simply way to much ground to cover from 30 million/yr to the near 80 million the BIG10 and SEC teams are set to receive.
