Tribe 2023 Flip Watch | Nole Commits
Keldric Faulk - The Alabama native concensus four-star defensive line recruit is the only current HS commitment I feel is in jeopardy. Ever since Auburn got Hugh Freeze in place as their new head football coach he has cranked the heat up to ten on the Highland Home, Alabama defensive end. Both the Noles and the Tigers are trying to get Faulk RSVP’d for the final official visit weekend and it appears that will be the deciding factor we should have an answer in 24-48 hours.
Tribe 2023 Flip Watch | Recruits Comitted Elesewhere
Conrad Hussy | Penn-State | The Four-Star St. Thomas Aquinas defensive back is currently committed to Franklins’ Nittany Lions. We are officially predicting a flip here, and I fully expect the six foot, 190 pound, safety prospect to make the flip. He is the number 237 player in the nation and top fifty in the state of Florida. This is a giant focus of the recruitinf staff moving forward. Florida kids need to be kept in state.
Kamren Robinson | UVA | A Virginia four-star linebacker commit, and Tappahannock, Virginia native Kamren burst into the conversation on Florida State’s 2023 signing class. What started off as a bit of mutual interest changed when Robinson came to Tallahassee. By all accounts including his own the visit was a total success for Norvell and co. I dont believe anyone is in it at this moment but in this NIL era anything can happen and doe$.
Cedric Baxter | Texas | This particular four-star Orlando, Florida running back has topped the Nole’s wish list at running back for a long time. Likewise Mike Norvell and staff have been after him hard on the recruiting trail. This recruitment is and has admittedly been a longshot. While Baxter is committed firmly to Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns the Nole’s continue applying steady presure. Norvell is in home with him again this week with the goal of getting him on campus for this weekend’s officials. I’m predicting the Longhorns with around 85% confidence.
Andy Jean | UF | This four-star, six foot one inch, and 180 pound man of a high-school senior will be in Tallahassee visiting the Seminoles this weekend according to several reports including right here on this weekends ongoing final official visitor weekend prior to the early signing period. Before now I would have said this was the least likely flip to happen. That’s no longer the case and unless Baxter announces a last second official visit to Florida State I’d swap the two and give UF around 80% shot signing him.
Currently Un-committed Portal & High- School
Fentrell Cypress II | UVA Cornerback
We have been reporting on Fentrell Cypress II since he entered the portal. It appears some real interest is developing here. The UVA Cornerback is considered by many to be the number one portal player available overall and is no doubt the best corner. I tend to agree as he is indeed a plug and play shutdown corner. He immediately locks down one side of field for whatever team he goes with. Norvell and staff are pushing Ohio State and Colorado here as of late for the South Carolina native’s signature. We will definitely keep our eyes on this one as he could change that DB room immediately. The closer we get to Friday the more it seems FSU might be his final visit before signing. This is a championship level roster Norvell and company are building. *Update* Multiple reports including Brendan Sonnone on the X’s and Noles Live podcast confirm “Deuce” Cypress is in Tallahassee for an official visit as his only one this week. Renegade Report drops a crystal trophy at 9:28 ET 12/15/22
Edwin Joseph | 3/4 * Chaminade-Madonna ATH |
This has been one of the state of Florida recruitments where despite his three star rating, Edwin is a priority of several in-state staffs. The Noles appear to be trending in a positive direction with the Chaminade-Prep, Hollywood, FL athlete. Check out his interview post official visit and our crystal trophy prediciton!
Warchant | Youtube
Jeremiah Byers | UTEP OL | Byers a six foot, four inch, and 341 pound monster in the middle of your offensive line, or out at right tackle where im hoping he projects. He is a Unicorn in recruiting that could come down and immediately compete to take over as the bookend opposite of returning left tackle Robert Scott. We are all hoping will be able to continue his steady development into a 2023 ACC Title run. Byers enjoyed the full three day official visit last weekend in Tallahassee. Despite recent offers from Ohio State and Oklahoma, I still predict Norvell will once again be made richer through relationship’s and early evaluation, through the portal.
Kyle Morlock | Shorter | The jump from a divison-two program directly to top level FBS competition is no easy task. That said, it very much can be done as shown by All-ACC defensive end Jared Verse who transfered in from the Great Danes of Albany. Tennessee was one of the very first two or three schools to offer the six foot seven, 250 pound transfer tight-end but the Noles weren’t far behind, if not beeping in on Huepel’s initial call with Morlock. After that Tennessee would sign a different portal tight-end, and seemingly concede quite a bit of ground. With the Noles also on an in-home this week I should be ready to say Crystal trophy! 100%! I’m just not quite there yet as Hugh Freeze has popped out of nowhere and may be the actual competition for his situation. *Update* Bang the firsr comitted crystal trophy! Check out his commitment article here.
Davonte Brown | UCF DB | This one is a pretty straight forward recruitment of another Florida kid with a shot to end up at FSU on the second go ‘round. Brown played in thirty games at UCF for something around two thousand snapsbat defensive back for the Knights. His coverage grades just kept improving game over game season over season. I don’t believe Brown has any other visits scheduled at this moment but we will update every few hours.
Braden Fiske | Western Michigan Defensive Line | The Nole’s have been on Braden hard since day one, even though apparantly ACC offers aren’t that important or impressive. Regardless the 6’ 5” 300 pound grown man will be in Tallahassee again for this major recruiting weekend. There is still a ways to go before January 18th but i believe the Noles currently lead the way for the valuable senior upper-classmen defensive lineman.
Casey Roddick | OL Colorado | We reported way back as early as the wee hours of the morning, December the fifth, that Casey was all but signed to the Noles and according to multiple sources had already been in town for days before then. Sure he played for 1-11 Colorado but he grades out very well, and has all the tools Alex Atkins and Norvell want in their lineman. He represented Colorado at Pac-12 Media Days and was voted team captain preseason Picked 4th Team All PAC-12 By Phil Steele Played in all 12 games for the Buffs in 21’ starting ten. Well he visited NC State last weekend and seemed to wuite enjoy it. According the information I had Casey was FSUs, just a matter if figuring out the schomarship numbers and when they could fit him in. Rumblings are increasing he may not be ema high enough priority in the staffs eyes. My very first prediction may well prove wrong but I’m gonna stick to it for now and keep watching.
Christopher Otto | Key West | Offensive Tackle
Mike Norvell’s staff has been in contact with Otto for well over a year after grabbing their attention at one of Coach Norvell’s Junior Day camps. I’m not sure how hard Alex Atkins and co. have been pushing him for a signature or if that real offer has been extended due to scholarship limitations. Those idea may be soon dismissed as it seems this past week his recruitment has picked up with Norvell going in-home and him expected to be in Tallahassee this weekend. I would not be surprised if he were to commit while on his official visit if the staff is ready. If your wondering why the ambiguous assessment and all the effort for a three star if he isn’t a sure thing etc.; I hear you, but you have to understand just how rare and hard it is to get and the develop elite offensive tackles in today’s day and age of college football.
This post will 100% be updated multiple time throughout today as situations evolve. The full commit list and attrition list is right here along with even more scoop.
