FSU Football: Exit Interviews = Transfer Portal Entries | Latest Entries & Full List
With Florida State's Spring Camp winding down we have had four additional portal entries with more to come.
Camp Ends & Exits Interviews Begin
Monday marked the final practice of Spring Camp along with the beginning of exit interviews that follow. Thus far we have already had two transfer portal entries in this timeframe with according to Renegade Report a good 5-7 more to go on the moderate end.
As it stands the transfer portal is partially open for certain graduate transfers and functions. It will be open for ALL players to enter and commit to new programs from May 1st- May 15th and all 60+ Power Five teams are wrapping up spring practice and conducting theorirnown exit interviews. What I’m trying to tell you is to buckle up because this is just the beginning.

The fifth year player, currently at linebacker, had a decent spring showing consistent growth since his switch there before the 2022 season. Nole fans were expecting him to be a real part of that rotation especially in nickel & dime situations but he is looking for a bigger role somewhere else.
His loss may trigger a linebacker pull from the portal as that’s one position the numbers aren’t great at. That said young players like Omar Graham Jr. and Demarco Ward shined in the spring showcase and Blake Nichelson is one to watch for.

Woody came in at #3 on our article “ Top Ten Seminoles On Portal Watch” back on March 16th. I wrote..
“Not a ton to say here as Woody has really made no real waves, good or bad. The metamorphosis of the defensive line room is right up there with OL and WR. While Woody may likely end up being a part of the rotation miving forward, a spot in the two deep seems highly unlikely at this point and it would simply be a roster churn move.”
I understand he is still young and just coming off a freshman year but I’m refering to the level of the unit overall and moving forward. It has been raised and Woody see’s Ayobame Tifase, Daniel Lyons, Bishop Thomas etc. all shining along with more transfers and improved high school recruiting.
UPDATE*
Zane Herring
His Full Note
I wrote this back in March 18th when he made the Top Ten Seminoles on Portal Watch….
I had such high hopes for Zane when he came in. After years and years of absolutely horrid OL recruitment with low numbers and low quality things began to take a turn and no one in the country is better at coaching them up than our boy Alex Atkins.
Problem for Herring is that with the Noles continued rise and Atkins proving his metil, the recruiting has increased year over year and adding three transfer OL plus a freak of nature like Lucas Simmons on top of him being a ways down the depth chart to begin with provides him with limited options if he wants to be a part of a CFB starting unit, but to transfer.
Stehphen Dix Jr.

The next player to hit the portal is none other than Stephen Dix Jr. another linebacker outshined by youngsters Demarco Ward and Omar Graham Jr. Amd being totally left in the dust by DJ Lundy. Dix has wormed very hard to transform his gsme and body and again had been improving within the system but the writing was on the wall.
The Noles must find a linebacker in the portal when it opens up come May 1st. Kalend Deloach and Tatum Bethune will both be gone after this year leaving the only a handful of players left on the roster amd DJ Lundy the lone upperclassmen.
Derrick McClendon
This one was a bit longer ago but still fresh in the memory of Noles around the globe. McClendon is the most valuable defensive player to enter the portal thus far and I don’t believe either Woody or Gant change that.
Defensive End depth is the biggest weakness of this entire ballclub when you sit down and look at it and linebacker comes in second in my opinion. This ship has sailed and we will see where Derrick ends up, but there is no guarentee a quality replacement will appear on the portal market. If it does though, you can bet Norvell and Papuchis will be all over him.
