Match-Up History
Florida State and Oklahoma met most recently in 2011, but most notably in the 2000 National Championship game when they stole….. erg … won the second ever BCS National Championship. Sorry Sooners it’s still a sore subject. Unlike many other great teams that have fallen to the ‘Noles, like Ohio State’s 0-3 record, the Sooners have dominated the pair’s series.
In the seven times these two have met on the gridiron Oklahoma is six and one. The Seminole’s lone victory coming via the pre-Bowden ( and three years before Calvin Patterson integrated the FSU team) ‘Noles, 1965 Gator Bowl victory 36 to 19. It has been all Oklahoma ever since in a trend we expect to see change in short order!
2023 Storylines Notable Opt - Outs
The Oklahoma Sooner’s in their first year under Brent Venables find themselve’s in a bit of a transition period. Unlike Florida State they have an impressive and growing opt out list. These two teams couldn’t possibly be farther apart in headspace.
