FSU Football: Recruiting | Where do the Noles stand after a pivotal weekend.
With the big official visit weekend in the books we look at what we can glean from the weekend and I predict the Noles chances with eight official visitors.

Mike Norvell’s recruiting machine hits high gear.
It was a long row to hoe for Mike Norvell when he arrived to Tallahassee three years ago. It truly has been a steady CLIMB to get to where we are today. It took innovation, patience and a totally revolutionary look at roster building and relationships. I wrote extensively on that process and Mike Norvell’s proof of concept in a must read for every Nole fan. The main subject here though; is where the Noles stand today after a major official visit weekend, and Coaches hitting the air to visit recruits.

Where the staff stands with major recruiting targets after the weekend
Jaheim Bell- This is an interesting recruitment. The USCe Portal Tight-End was by all accounts on FSU’s campus for the majority of the weekend. Bell made it clear he did not wish to be photographed or video taped while on his visit. Then out of no where he drops Noles themed merchandise in his NIL store; only to say it was hacked and then immediately retracting that tweet. I write about the snafu here but with no real visits lined up I believe it’s just a matter of him announcing.
Davonte Brown - The UCF DB seemed to have an absolute blast on his visit and was even joined by his younger brother. This had to be surreal given their large age gap, Davonte entering his fourth year of college football, and Damari being a top 2023 HS recruit. Davonte had nothing but great things to say about his time in Tallahassee and I expect his commitment as well.

Damari Brown - This recruitment is much different from his older brother’s. The Noles are battling Miami and Alabama for his signature in a much more uphill battle. That said while the pair has not implicitly said they were a package deal the commitnent of Davonte would have to be a major plus. Damari is an American Heritage cornerback and one of the top prospects in the 2023 class; coming in at 191 in the 247 Composite. He has long been considered a Miami lean but Norvell is fighting hard for his signature.

Jeremiah Byers - Probably my favorite recruit to follow on his official visit, Byers seemed like a ball of energy and had a great time with offensive line coach Alex Atkins along with everyone else around him. The UTEP offensive lineman was left conspicuously absent from the schools All- American team social post despite clearly being one of the top selections. Byers went back and forth with them while in Tallahassee after witnessing FSU practice with at least four outgoing transfer players being full participants. I expect the UTEP OL to sign with the Noles.

Edwin Joseph - The Chaminade- Maddona Prep 3-4* ATH is a big time target for the Noles and several other big-time programs despite his modest ranking. He has been to Florida State’s campus multiple time throughout his recruitment. He said he absolutely loved his visit and it was probably the most fun he has had on an official visit. His favorite part was visiting Coach Norvell’s home and got hands on with some cooking fun with the family. That was the main theme hearing him on his visit like so many others the Family atmosphere is the major selling point. He is taking no more visits. I still think he is leaning Miami but the Noles are right there.

Rueben Bain Jr. - To be totally honest this one may be more of a sell on the future portal relationship than for signing him in 2023. Regardless of the slim chance of him not choosing Miami, Mike Norvell was all in all weekend. The staff really put on the full court press and just sold the family atmosphere and also had a very special dinner with his family and the coaching staff. I still think he plays for Miami next year.

Kyle Morlock - The Shorter tight-end is said to have arrived Thursday evening. He had an all business style approach and really dug into what his role would be in Norvell’s offense built for playmakers. I’m pretty sure Norvell has three years of Tight-ends in straight man coverage that he could absutely crush. This was Kyles second trip to Tallahasse after taking an unofficial shortly after enting the portal. The Noles have been in contact since thebstart and I like our chances to be better than fifty percent.
Conrad Hussy - The Penn State defensive back commitment was a bit of a surprise official when he came pulling up Friday afternoon. He gushed about the family environment at FSU and all the relationships he has with coaches. That’s really about it as the Noles have been in contact since the middle of the year but I just don’t think the Noles have made big enough impression to flip him quite yet. We will have to wait and see.
Kamren Robinsin - This is the opposite of the last one. I feel great about this recruitment and Kamren had a great time on campus. He really enjoyed the cooking contest judged by Noles steength classes. Another major thing that stuck out to Kamren was the size of Champions Hall dorms. I just see nothing but good vibes with him. He does have a visit scheduled with South Carolina before he signs but I’m gonna predict a flip here. Not based off tangible info I just think he is a Nole.
He really enjoyed his visit give him a follow @ Kamrenrobinson
