After Saturday' sperformance you may be a bit surprised by the title I chose for today's article. That's okay because your a fanatic and that's what fanatics do, we worry. If you look at the box score or statistics scattered across the internet from our scrape with BC you will be extremely worried.
Fortunately for you I'm here to calm your fears and get you pumped up for your Noles squad to go wreck the Clemson Tigers come Saturday. The stats will tell you BCs Rushing stack had their way with FSUs front when in reality their RB core had 25 carries for 57 yards, less than 2ypc. Castellanos was killing us but Cade Clubnik is not in the same realm of athlete.
When it comes to the narrative that championship teams don't let an unranked team take them to the wire, I simply scoff at it and continue my day. There are dozens of examples including the aforementioned 2013 National Champ Seminoles being tested early in the year by a 7-6(4-4) BC team.
As far as this year I could point to just about every other top ten ten team with a similar scenario. Texas was in a battle with WYOMING! The same Clemson team we are facing were blown out by Duke in their conference opener.
Back to the specifics of this particular matchup and the similarities to the 2013 team. The 13’ team was indeed traveling to Death Valley just like this year. Not only that but the Tigers were on a five game winning streak vs the Noles at home. Jameis Winston and the boys busted that stream and put it on them in their own house to prevent six in a row. I expect similar results from JT13 and the squad quashing their hopes for five in a row.
Jimbo got his first win in Death Valley and parlayed it into an ACC championship and then won it all. I have no doubt Mike Norvell will be able to do the same thing but their is another tough game on the ACC schedule this year.
In order for the Noles to win it all they had to take down a scrappy Duke team with a stud at QB. I really try not to get into the crazy superstitious crowd but it's pretty wild ten years later and here we sit with a Duke team at #18 and a likely opponent in the ACC Title game on top of a regular season matchup.
Soak it in folks it's Clemson Hate Week and the matchups are in the Noles favor! Stay tuned to the Renegade Report as we will do an article breaking the matchups we will see Saturday along with predictions, injury news, press Availabilities and more. I'll leave you all with Mike Norvells opening Presser for the week.
