FSU Football | Transfer Picture Clearing Up | Top Targets and Attrition
A little over a week since the transfer portal was officially opened Mike Norvell has begun to settle in on some targets and one Legacy has just announced his intentions to enter at a major positin.
Top Targets
The biggest two names and the centerpiece of this portal class is obviously the Quarterback Position. Pick the right QB here and the Noles can make another run in 2024.
Cam Ward - QB
Cam Ward is #2 according to ON3 and 247 has him as the #7 overall transfer portal player. His upside and playmaker ability is undeniable. What makes his play so much more impressive was the blocking (or lack thereof) of his OL at Wazzu. This is certainly a factor in his turnovers but 30+ is hard to ignore. He was in Tally getting the bulk of the focus of the coaching staff from Thursday through Saturday.
DJ Uaigalelei - QB
DJU has grown on me steadily since his name was first mentioned in connection to FSU. It seems to me he was showing up to campus this weekend ready to commit. It seems like the Seminoles staff may be waiting to see what Ward will ultimately do. While I trust this staff implicitly this is definitely a dangerous game that could leave you out in the cold. Stay tuned
Marvin Jones Jr. - Edge
This one speaks for itself. He was on campus for his visit over the weekend and is transferring fornsimilar reasons to Jermaine Johnson and will be a major pick up. Alabama is the only other school I know of hebhas shown any interest in.
Samson Okunlola - DE
Nyland Green - CB
Jamon Dumas Johnson - LB
There are more names but it's all about QB. With bowl games under way and early signing day look for the board to expand. Skill players and trench players will be coming to town
