FSU Football | Transfer Portal Officially Opens | Five Noles Officially Enter and Five more likely to follow suit!
The Renegade Report has been rewarded for consistently gone against the grain in it's transfer portal predictions and being right. What should you expect?
Floodgates Open
Monday December 4th, marks the first day of the new thirty day transfer portal period. This is opposed to last year's forty five day period. This serves to make things that much more hectic and also plays right into Mike Norvells hands. FSU strikes fast in the portal and getting there guy on campus FIRST is of upmost importance. They have done an amazing job at this and I expect no different this year.
One unfortunate aspect of the portal opening is that those floodgates work both ways. I have been extremely vocal in believing FSU brings in another haul of 10+ transfers in this 2024 portal class. In order for that to happen we will need to see a substantial number of portal exits to go along with the Seminoles going pro in Football via the NFL or whatever else life may have in-store.
Exit Interview's & Early Entries
QB - AJ Duffy
We expected this one as early as spring.
RB - CJ Campbell (PWO)
As soon as CJ Campbell wasn’t awarded a scholarship this summer the writing was on the wall.
TE - Markeston Douglas
This one stinks. I was hoping for him to be a big part of the 2024 football team and bring some veteran leadership to a younger group.
LB - Dylan Brown-Turner (2023)
This prospect was added at the last minute and we told you from the beginning he would likely end up right here. Best of luck to the young man.
TE - Preston Daniel
Bit of a surprise from a guy who has made tremendous strides over 4+ years at FSU. Maybe he can go be a star for a smaller program and ball out. I’m all for it best of luck.
Given the recent circumstances regarding the college football playoff its hard to even imagine conducting exit interviews with these players right now but the staff owes them the best opportunity to make a choice moving forward so I expect them to happen expeditiously.
This isn’t a guess as they have already begun in earnest and as you can see multiple players have already decided to take their talents elsewhere going forward. We will keep you up to date with all the latest portal entries and Targets right here at The Renegade Report.
With all that being said this staff is not wasting anytime whatsoever trimming the fat. There are very few players left on this roster who are not value guys in the ACC but that can never again be the standard. The ACCs best obviously isn't good enough. This coaching staff is continuing to flip this roster and I stand firm in believing they end up bringing in 10+ guys in the portal. With five names already in we will need at least another five. Who are the next possible contenders…..
Possible Exits
With five Seminoles already announced to be entering the portal who will the next five be? Here are five names we could possibly see hit the portal. I want to highlight these are not guys I necessarily WANT to see go but that possible could go due to unmitigatable factors.
Caziah Holmes
I put Caziah at the top of the list because I absolutely love him as a player and I just don't know how satisfied he is with his reps and with all the young backs coming in. I think he could be the best back in the room so let'shope he stays.
Kentron Portier
Kentron Portier is a guy who has worked his butt off and could be the number one option at dozens of other FBS schools. We will see if he goes that route or returns for another year.
Darrell Jackson
This situation is so messed up. I'm not sure exactly where Darrell stands concerning graduating so he could transfer, or if he might go pro, but having the playoffs ripped from him after practicing all year is a nightmare for him. I support his decision no matter what it is.
Kevin Knowles
The Florida State DB room is becoming extremely crowded and with the #1 DB Class In The Nation incoming plus young players like Conrad Hussey, AZ etc balling out could encourage a move.
Is Cam Ward The Guy?
We gave you a list of graduate quarterbacks the other day including the likes of DJU from Oregon State and some other journeyman. All pale in comparison thus far to Cam Ward. He is the legit option to pick up right where Jordan Travis left off and a 2024 playoff run. It is just entirely to early to judge where FSU currently is on interest here but I'll tell you all right now I'm in.
Coming up as soon as tomorrow we will bring the Renegade Report faithful articles Breaking down all the big names hitting the portal as this week continues and the fog of being left out of the CFP wears off who Mike Norvell and Staff value versus who they don't.
