The #PortalKings are at it again. Former Oregon State edge player Sione Lolohea has elected to transfer to Florida State for the 2024 season. The edge rusher position has become a major position of need for the Seminoles, and “Toko” as he is called will help fill that need expeditiously.
Last season was his most productive as a player with 8.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He also forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble. Those numbers allowed him to be selected for 2nd team all-conference honors for the PAC-12.
This is another example of where GM Darrick Yray’s connections out west have paid off. You all remember that GM Yray was hired from Oregon State so he knew Toko very well. It was only fitting that Yray was the staff member who initiated contact with Toko.
Lolohea’s existing relationship with Yray coupled with DJU’s commitment to the #Climb allowed Florida State to land a good player who will be leaned upon to replace the production lost by multiple departing players.
